Duties: Providing short-term emotional and practical assistance to victims of crime at the request of the attending police, or other emergency service personnel, andidentifyng longer-term needs to the Executive Director.

Skills Expected: maturity, reliability and responsibility; comfort in dealing with a variety of people in crisis; ability to provide emotional support and willingness to rpovide practical assistance; knowledge of community resources; own transportation an asset

Orientation: Orientation is done through Ministry of Attorney mandated minimum standards training and ongoing through time involved in organization.

Training: Ministry of Attorney General mandated minimum training provided over 2 weekends. Ongoing training through monthly meetings. Volunteers must participate in ongoing training activities offered each month.

Benefits: Gives the opportunity to assist members in our communities who have been affected by crime or tragic circumstance.
