Duties:
Our volunteers carry out a wide variety of tasks using a wide spectrum of physical, technical and interpersonal skills. Volunteers run our Box Offices and work as Ushers at all of our venues and events and fill various other positions during the Festival. Ushers are responsible for the patron's experience, they will open the doors to the house and collect tickets as patrons enter into the theatre. Ushers will also work with the Venue Manager to fulfill other duties. Venue managers are volunteers with strong leadership skills (who have volunteered with theatre companies and productions in the past). They are responsible for ensuring the venue runs smoothly and the patrons have a great experience. Box Office volunteers will work where patrons come to purchase tickets for the next performance. They will be responsible for selling tickets. Street festival volunteers are responsible for assisting the Coordinator and participants with setting up, maintaining and tearing down events and booths, answering questions and provide a Fringe presence on the street.

As the Volunteer Run Director your time will be spent managing and empowering your committee to rally support and participants, as well as driving logistical elements of the CIBC Run for the Cure. While collaborating with organization’s staff, you will be tasked with creating a community engagement plan and engaging the entire committee in understanding and achieving the revenue goal for the event. Along with your committee you will develop and execute a site plan, organize a 1km and 5km route, and recruit a team of volunteers to support all local Run activities. You will have the constant support of the organization’s staff who will answer your questions, provide guidance and assistance when necessary, and connect you with other Run Leaders.

Working alongside your committee and Volunteer Run Directors, you are responsible for generating excitement in your community via media and social media using the PR Toolkit provided by Run staff. You will identify local spokespeople and serve as the primary media contact on event day. You will also be responsible for establishing a distribution and post event pick up plan for promotion materials, if needed.

As the Local Sponsorship Lead, you will recruit build local connections, new sponsors, and strengthen relationships with existing sponsors to offset some event expenses and contribute to the CIBC Run for the Cure revenue. Working with your committee, you are responsible for acquiring local cash, and in-kind sponsorships, ensure that sponsor obligations are fulfilled and each sponsor feels the true value of a partnership with the CIBC Run for the Cure.
