Fundraising

Duties: Committee members will work together to bring the Run to End Poverty to the city of Sault St. Marie. Within this committee, there are a number of positions available: Event Co-Leads: planning, coordination, execution, team health, being contact point with EWB National Office) Relationship and Fundraising Leads: building relationships with runners, tracking fundraising goals, provide fundraising support Communications Coordinator: newsletters and social media, tracking updates and announcements relevant to runners, working with national communication strategy Recruitment and Marketing Leads: designing and executing on local recruitment strategy, detailing recruitment goals/strategy within local demographics, local marketing strategy, effective utilization of materials provided from National Planning Committee Community Partnership Lead: acquiring and maintaining relationships with prospective community running teams (coffee shops, municipal offices, athletic groups etc) Corporate Partnership Lead: acquiring and maintaining relationships with prospective corporate teams (engineering companies, etc) Committee Health Lead: watching over team health, energy, morale and trust, creating opportunities for team bonding. Finance and Administrative/Logistics Lead: tracking overall numbers against targets, coordinating shipments of resources from EWB National Office, ongoing logistics (meeting spaces, meeting minutes, document sharing etc) Pre-Race Event Leads: planning runner socials, training events, t-shirt pickups and pre-race dinner Race Day Leads: volunteer recruitment/training and coordination, developing R2EP presence on race day, ensuring runners are prepared (race kits, t-shirts etc)

Orientation: A member from the R2EP National Planning Committee will come to Sault St Marie to run a one day retreat on a day that works for all committee members. The contact from National Office will then be available for ongoing support over the course of the planning period.

Training: There is no concrete training provided (aside from a 1 day retreat) but the National Planning Committee has put together a comprehensive "How-to" Guide for planning the Run to End Poverty.
